Howdy!

Taylor Matousek is a graphic designer, writer, and photographer from Northern California. She earned her B.A. in creative writing and studio art (graphic design emphasis) from the University of Redlands in Southern California, graduating summa cum laude in 2018.

Taylor has since switched coasts and now resides in Charlottesville, Virginia. She’s worked as a grant writer at UVA, and as a member of the marketing team for the historic nonprofit Paramount Theater. When COVID drove her further indoors, Taylor began working remotely as the technical editor and accessibility lead for a consulting firm. She eventually made her way back into the creative marketing arena and is now the marketing manager for rater8, a SaaS company specializing in healthcare reputation management.

When it comes to her art, Taylor endeavors to attempt new techniques in any medium that catches her eye. While she’s no stranger to digital design, Taylor is more drawn to tactile art and has created books using all manner of layout and binding techniques, prints via letterpress and linocut, drawings in pencil and charcoal, and dozens of print pieces in all shapes and sizes. Nothing brings her greater joy than to see people flipping through a copy of her literary magazine or doodling in one of her handmade sketchbooks.

When she isn’t obsessing over colors and nitpicking grammar, Taylor reads and writes fiction, cares for her succulents, plays narrative-driven video games, and hangs out with Suki, her mischievous foxhound.
